Our team delivers ongoing legal support, particularly including the preparation of detailed reports for mining license holders, participating in tenders for mining areas, and liaising with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs (“MAPEG”) for all mining-related matters.  

Mining Licenses/Permits  

In Türkiye, companies must obtain exploration or operation licenses from MAPEG to explore and exploit minerals. Our expert team assists clients in obtaining these licenses and mining operation permits, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitating a smooth process to conduct mining activities.  

Royalty Agreements  

We also represent clients as license and royalty holders, in drafting, reviewing, or negotiating royalty agreements to ensure compliance with legal standards and protect our clients' interests, and handle all necessary proceedings before MAPEG for the registration of those agreements. We also regularly advise clients on a variety of royalty streaming agreements, including NSR, GPR and GSR royalty agreements.

Under Turkish mining Law, only Turkish citizens or legal entities may hold licenses for the exploration and exploitation of minerals. We assist our foreign clients in all facets of incorporating Turkish companies, acquiring existing entities, or establishing joint ventures with Turkish companies to facilitate their participation in mining activities in Türkiye.
