Mehmet Suat Kayıkçı leads our practices in energy, dispute resolution, ESG, and administrative law. In 2002, Mr. Kayıkçı began his career as an environmental specialist at the Turkish Ministry of Environment. In 2004, he transitioned to the Energy Market Regulatory Authority of Turkey (EMRA) as an associate energy specialist, where he served for ten years until joining LBF Partners in 2014.
With over twenty years of experience in the energy sector, Mr. Kayıkçı provides expert legal guidance to both local and international clients on all aspects of energy matters, including complex transactions and regulatory permits and approvals. He is also an expert in mining law and environmental regulations.
Mr. Kayıkçı teaches energy law in leading certification programs at various universities in Turkey and regularly writes on energy, environmental, and mining law topics. His publications include Türk Petrol Piyasası Hukuku (Turkish Oil Market Law), a chapter titled "Working with Joint Operating Agreements in Civil Law Jurisdiction: The Republic of Turkey" in the book Joint Operating Agreements: Challenges and Concerns from Civil Law Jurisdictions, published by Wolters Kluwer and a chapter titled “Regulatory Aspects of Natural Gas Distribution in Turkey” in the book The Regulation of Turkish Network Industries published by Springer Link.
